Purpose
The Volunteer Leaders Organization of Texas was organized to give 4-H Volunteers an opportunity to network.
Mission Statement:
The focus of the 4-H Volunteer Leaders Association of Texas is on training and communication for and among 4-H Adult Leaders. The over-all purpose is to involve 4-H Leaders in 4-H Leadership Development.
Objectives:
- Stimulate the development of statewide 4-H adult leader education programs.
- Stimulate the participation of adult 4-H leaders in county, district, state, and regional education programs.
- Maintain a strong communication between county and district 4-H Leaders' Associations and State 4-H & Youth faculty and extension administrators on 4-H leader needs.
- Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating state 4-H events and activities through the exchange of ideas among adult leaders.
- Sustain a liaison with the Texas 4-H Council and the Board of Trustees of the Texas 4-H Foundation.
- Assist in the development of resources to support the 4-H leadership development program.
- Interpret the 4-H program to the public with the emphasis on leadership development and self esteem for all youth of Texas.
- Support the education of former 4-H members through the VLAT Buddy Anderson Memorial Scholarship.
